Find out how you can easily manage the Bond Collection for your property in Australia

Understanding the Bond Collection process is an important part of being a successful landlord, especially when self-managing your property. In Australia, the bond is controlled by each state government authority and there are different rules and regulations for each state.

The bond plays a vital role in providing peace of mind and protection for you as a landlord. Typically you would ask for up to 4 weeks rent to be held as a bond and it is important that there is a bond in place at the beginning of every tenancy.

The state governments are finally moving into the digital age and we couldn’t be happier - it’s certainly about time. We’re excited to be not only reducing paperwork but also streamlining the rental process to make things easier for you and your tenant.

Bond Collection Made Easy on RentBetter!

Recently we launched a tool to help landlords manage the bond for their property. You can now choose to add your bond details and send them through to your tenant to collect through the RentBetter platform.

You will also be able to see the recommendation based on your state to make an informed decision on what action you need to take in relation to lodgement.

There are two main steps that you need to take when lodging a bond for your tenancy. These include setting up your account and then paying the bond.

Through the RentBetter platform, you can:

  • Fill in the bond details for your property online
  • Send the bond details to your tenant to collect either through RentBetter or outside RentBetter
  • Attach any documents you wish to share with your tenant and save them for future reference
  • See the status of your bond payments

It’s really simple to use - whether you're a first-time landlord or an experienced property owner and manager, we're positive this feature will help both you and your tenant to navigate the process and save time (and paper) whilst you’re at it!

If you'd like to find out more about how it works and see how you can streamline the process to collect bond from your tenants, check out the Guided Tour below on RentBetter.
